Fixing a Flat Tire

If it's one of the front ones, all you need to do is lift the front up and the rest is like changing any tyre. And always brimming hard that first & last part of getting the tyre off or back on - strong hands & determination...[Deb K]

The hardest part is getting the tire off. You will need patience and a lot of those things you stick in between the tire and the rim. I, too, recommend borrowing very strong hands [Donna C]

Something I recently learned is that there is a groove in the middle of the rim. When you are taking off or putting on the tire, make sure to put most of the bead that is already on the rim in that groove. It is counter intuitive because it seems like it will make it harder. If you do it this way, you don't need tools.

For a front wheel just loosen the disk brake by turning the two allen bolts on the inside back of the brake, Then remove the one larger allen bolt from the center of the tire and pull it off. If it's a back tire you have lots more work, first loosen the 6 bolts so the two brackets move up and back, then slide the chain off, then remove the shifter cable so you can slide the tire off the back after loosening it's NUTs.
